The camera will be able to take pictures from about 15 feet away. It's a stronger camera and more user friendly especially if you are into virtual objects and virtual reality.
" Apple is widely expected to release three phones this year that are effectively upgraded versions of this year's lineup, the $749 iPhone XR, the $999 iPhone XS, and the $1099 iPhone XS Max. They will have upgraded chips and software, including a system-wide dark mode."
Now you have to wait till September so save that money, and be prepared for other changes as well.
