California Parents Could Soon Sue For Social Media Addiction

California parents could soon hold social media companies responsible for harming children who have become addicted and harmed, either physically, mentally, emotionally, developmentally or materially.

The bill has already been passed through the state Assembly on Monday and still needs to go through the state senate, which would permit parents to sue platforms like Instagram and TikTok for up to $25,000 per violation.
