P!NK Once Asked Mary J. Blige To Duet And She Flat Out Said 'No'

P!NK reunited with Eminem for a collab called "Revenge," on her new album, Beautiful Trauma, but don't expect the pop vet to sing alongside Mary J. Blige, or at least that's how the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul felt some years ago about a star-studded duo between the two.

"I went in her trailer a long time ago, I think it was when I hosted the Lady of Soul Train, or Soul Train Awards," the pop star recently said in an interview in promotion for the just-released LP. "I walked into her trailer and I was like, 'Hi! Would you ever work with me?' She just took one look at me and she goes, 'No.' I go, 'Okay. I love you, Mary. I'll see you again.'"

Mary J. Blige has yet to respond publically to the incident, but it's worth noting that it happened back in 2000 when the star just burst onto the scene with her R&B-influenced material. Since then, P!NK has garnered a wave of critical success and cemented herself in the industry, and we're sure that Blige appreciates that nowadays, or at least that's what we're hoping. Years later, the two would appear together when the pop star and T.I. presented the icon with the award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for "Be Without You" at the 49th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
