One Of The Scariest Attractions, Halloween Horror Nights, Is Now Open!

"Halloween Horror Nights" at Universal Studios Hollywood brings together the sickest minds in horror to immerse guests in a living, breathing, three-dimensional world of terror. This year’s event features 10 terrifying mazes inspired by today’s most compelling movie and television horror properties as well as a selection of all-original horror-themed mazes envisioned by the masters behind the creation of “Halloween Horror Nights.” As Southern California’s premier Halloween event, “Halloween Horror Nights” is designed to taunt, terrorize and torment guests as they navigate the darkness from one frightening maze to another. The attraction is open from Friday, September 13 to Sunday, November 3, 2019. The houses featured this year include Stranger Things, Jordan Peele's Us, Ghostbusters, Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Creepshow, House of 1000 Corpses, The Curse of Pandoras Box, Holidayz In Hell and AMC's The Walking Dead.

Universal Studios Hollywood once again partners with Netflix to bring “Stranger Things” to life as fans of the series get a chance to brave the Upside Down and confront the supernatural in the all-new maze inspired by seasons 2 and 3 of the critically-acclaimed series. This year’s chilling maze picks up where last year’s left off, continuing the suspenseful storyline where a predatory entity terrorizes the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, and delving even further into the parallel universe, referred to as the Upside Down. The maze will also leap forward to 1985, taking guests on a terrifying excursion through portions of “Stranger Things 3,” offering surprising twists and unexpected turns around every corner.

“Halloween Horror Nights” brings Us to life in an all-new maze from Universal Pictures and visionary Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele. Featuring the unnerving labyrinth of underground tunnels that stretch from coast to coast below America, to the disorienting and ominous uprising of “The Tethered”— doppelgängers of every living man, women and child in the country —the maze will place guests at the heart of this living nightmare where they quickly realize they are their own worst enemy. Horror fans will follow young Adelaide Wilson as she ventures through a mirror funhouse at the Santa Cruz boardwalk circa 1986 to her traumatic encounter with her tethered doppelgänger. The harrowing experience will then transition to present day, thrusting guests into the chaos of “The Tethered” uprising as they emerge from their tunnels to murder their privileged doubles in a nationwide coordinated act of rebellion.

For the first time ever, Sony Pictures’ classic film, Ghostbusters, comes to “Halloween Horror Nights” bringing the most memorable scenes, characters and supernatural spirits from the 1984 film to life. Guests will follow in the footsteps of the Ghostbusters – Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston – as they venture through artfully recreated scenes from the film, including the firehouse, the library and the Temple of Gozer. As they delve deeper into the maze, guests will come face-to-face with an array of paranormal creatures, from the voracious Slimer to the all-powerful Gozer the Gozerian and in its ultimate destructor form – the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, to brave the demonic spirits and survive the night.
