The Angry Crab Shack Southwest Cajun Fest was last Saturday in Chandler. It brought the sounds, smells, tastes and culture of New Orleans to the Valley.
We were fortunate to try some of the dishes and highly recommend them to locals! The first dish we tried was a Shrimp Boil from Angry Crab Shack and was both juicy and extremely filling. It was definitely an experience to peal each of the shrimps individually and eat it fresh. Another notable aspect of the festival was the Bayou specialty drink. It was not only pretty to look at but delicious to drink. The Purple Haze beer was a smooth drink that paired well with the food. One of our other favorite dishes we were able to try was the Alligator Bites. It tasted like chicken at first and then had an incredible after taste that paired really well with the french fries.
Angry Crab Shack had more than a dozen other local restaurants there including Bayou Bistro, Honey Bears BBQ Cajun Cusine, JJ’s Louisiana BBQ and Maya’s Cajun Kitchen.
The musical stage featured live performances from five bands – Hoodoo Coasters, Bluesman Mike, NolAz Band and Souled Out Jazz Band.
