During lockdown many are trying to recreate their favorite fast-food items that they can’t get a hold of usually. One person made a gravy very similar to KFC’s and posted it on memorieswithdishes.com. It is a pourable gravy sauce that can pretty much be poured on anything.
Ingredients:
Five tablespoons of flour
Four tablespoons of butter
one-quarter tablespoon of garlic powder
black pepper
sage
one beef stock cube
one chicken stock cube
two cups of water
Recipe:
1. To get your gravy, make up the stock cubes with boiling water and set to one side. Next, mix your flour, garlic powder, black pepper and sage in a bowl.
2. Then you'll need to melt the butter over a low heat, before adding the flour and herb mixture and stirring constantly.
3. Once this has gone a nice golden brown colour, slowly start to pour in your stock - remember to keep stirring or it'll go lumpy. Turn the heat up to medium and keep cooking it until it's thickened.
If you don’t feel like making the gravy yourself you can still buy it from KFC’s pick up or delivery option.
A spokesperson for KFC told LADbible "Over the last week, we've reopened 11 of our restaurants in the UK. They're open for delivery only and are serving a limited menu, operated by fewer team members with new procedures in place to help ensure we're following social distancing guidelines.”
