Scottsdale company’s revenue skyrocketed due to quarantine binge-watching

With the stay at home order binge watching has become one of the most popular things to do during quarantine. As a result of this Scottsdale-based Limelight Networks Inc. saw a surge in revenue.

Limelight Networks provides the cloud-based backbone for content delivery for some of the world’s biggest operators of streaming services like Amazon Prime which streams movies, tv shows, news programs and video games into different people’s homes.

They have also announced a key C-suite shift with CFO Sajid Malhotra assuming a new role as chief strategy officer, overseeing the company’s overall corporate and merger and acquisitions strategy.

On April 23, the company reported record revenue during first-quarter 2020 of $57 million, up 32% from the first three months of 2019. Amazon and Sony represented 10% of the total revenue.
