Recovering coronavirus is wheeled to the beach by a hospital staff

A hospital in Spain is taking their coronavirus patients to the beach as a part of their recovery from the illness. Photos on Twitter show the medical staff from the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona wheeling the patients to a scenic view of the Mediterranean Sea. This part of the process is to humanize intensive care units, according to BBC News.

The head of the hospital's ICU told Catalan daily newspaper ARA Societat has been doing these outings for years.

Spain was the second European country after Italy to be forcefully hit by the coronavirus. It then spread to France and Britain.

Restrictions have gradually became easier as medical situations improved.

The development is “very, very encouraging,” emergency health response chief Fernando Simón said.
