Valley Hotline To Provide Free Weekly Check-ins For Lonely Seniors

It's no surprise that the coronavirus pandemic has targeted mainly older adults. Date shows many older Americans have become the most vulnerable and many state leaders have urged them to stay at home.

Along with this, the lack of social interaction due to quarantine can take a toll on the mental health of many older people.

Melissa Elliott is the Vice President of Programs and Services with the Area Agency on Aging in the Valley. "With social distancing, we're kind of implying that we're losing that human connection," Elliott said, "Which is what we all need."
