Selena Gomez had her first crush on an iconic rapper when she was just five years old.
The "Single Soon" star opened up about her favorite rappers on the June 25 episode of Complex's GOAT Talk, zooming in on two legends.
"Can I tell you my first one that I had a crush on? Ice Cube. I had the biggest crush on him when I was, like, 5," Gomez told fellow songstress Karol G. "It’s so weird, but I just thought he would protect me. I’m only saying it simply based on my childhood."
Aside from revealing her childhood crush, Gomez also admitted she was a huge fan of Eminem.
"One of mine was Eminem only because I grew up listening to him. My dad was a DJ, so he would remix all kinds of songs, and every time it was an Eminem song, I would just get so excited."
Karol G agreed that her first favorite rapper was the "Lose Yourself" standout, but now it's Nicki Minaj.
"The first rapper in my life that I was, like, super obsessed with was Eminem, and now I think, for me, Nicki Minaj. For me, she's one of the best." The colombian-born singer released "Tusa" with Manaj in 2019!
Elsewhere in the interview, Gomez revealed that she thinks Britney Spears is one of the greatest pop stars of all time, and Meryl Streep is the best actress.
