After being prompted on Twitter to help aid the nationwide ventilator shortage, Tesla & SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has bought 1,255 ventilators to be distributed for free to California hospitals.
Musk tweeted, “China had an oversupply, so we bought 1255 FDA-approved ResMed, Philips & Medtronic ventilators on Friday night & airshipped them to LA.” California Governor Gavin Newsom made the announcement in a press conference Monday, calling the exchange “a heroic effort."
