If you grew up or had children in the 80’s or 90’s then you’re probably familiar with the popular children’s television series “Reading Rainbow.” Former host LeVar Burton is trying to bring back the same sentiment of the show in a modern format, a free livestream.
Burton tweeted on Tuesday “I’ve been busting my brain for about a week now trying to figure out how to do a live-streamed version of #LeVarBurtonReads. I figured that during this difficult time I could contribute by reading aloud to folks who could use some diversion for themselves and their families.”
The actor faced a few roadblocks trying to find copyright-free works to livestream and as a result has had a few authors granting permission to their entire catalogs to help out.
