As the NBA prepares to start up the season after cancelling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some players are asking to push back the start. The NBA has shared their plan to bring back the season in their Orlando Bubble which will allow the NBA to remain isolated to decrease the chance of spreading COVID. No fans will be allowed for the first few weeks and the players will have to remain quarantined as well.
Players shared several concerns as to why they think the NBA should consider pushing the start back. One reason is health focused, being that players will be isolated in the Orlando Bubble, they may not be able to continue their regular health care treatment if they have injuries, etc. In addition to health concerns, the topic of the social justice issues that are going on in the world right now. The Black Lives Matter movement is the making major moves in the right direction but definitely still has a long way to go.
Although the NBA's return has been approved, the final details have not yet been finalized.
