For the first time in 37 years Budweiser has decided to skip on its Super Bowl ads and use the money to donate to Covid vaccine efforts.
As of Friday 39 million doses had been distributed, but only 19.1 million had been administered.
The company also launched its Super Bowl LV campaign "Bigger Picture," a film that champions vaccine support. The 90-second film will be ran digitally ahead of the Super Bowl.
The short film is narrated by Rashida Jones, highlighting frontline health-care workers receiving the vaccine.
Anheuser-Busch will still continue run ads for other products within the company, including Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade, Michelob ULTRA, Michelob Ultra Organic Seltzer and ads in select markets for Stella Artois and Cutwater spirits. Anheuser-Busch will have four minutes of ad airtime in the broadcast.
