Lil Yachty Says He Got Death Threats After His Biggie and Pac Comments

Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival 2017 - Day 2

It's been 5 years since Lil Yachty made some bold comments claiming 2Pac and Biggie were overrated. Now he's opening up about the backlash those comments brought him and what he learned from the experience.

Lil Yachty sat down with Zane Lowe of Apple Music to say "I never meant to disrespect. I was just being honest. I didn't have no media training, right? All I knew was to be an honest person. So someone asked me about whether it's hip-hop lesson guide. My cousin would be honest. I'm going to tell the truth. I'm not like Biggie, Tupac, you're going to say this every time, I didn't listen to them but I didn't say they were trash."

He continued to talk about how he never had people hate him like the way he was hated after his comments, even receiving death threats.

"But it taught me a lot. It built my character up and made me so strong," said Yachty.
