The Tokyo Olympics may no longer be an option for Sha'Carri Richardson, after she failed her drug test.
According to Jamaica Gleaner, Richardson tested positive for marijuana during last month's US Olympic Trials.
Because it is a prohibited substance, she will unlikely be able to compete in the Olympics, facing a one-to-three month suspension.
According to ESPN a source familiar with the matter said Richardson tested positive last month at the trials where she established herself as a gold medal contender by winning the 100 meters in 10.86 seconds. However her numbers would be wiped out, voiding her win in the 100-meter final.
It has been confirmed that Richardson will be on the Today Show on Friday, so we will see if she address the issue.
