New York City has just become the first major city to create a mandate, requiring proof of vaccination for certain indoor businesses and activities.
Mayor Bill de Blasio made the announcement Tuesday that will include all indoor restaurants, entertainment venues and gyms.
"it's time for people to see vaccination as necessary to living a good and full and healthy life," said de Blasio.
the "Key to NYC Pass," will launch on Aug. 16, giving people time to get their vaccination before the mandate goes into effect.
