If you would like to help the younger generation San Bernardino County Children's Network and Mentoring Task Force are recruiting mentors during National Mentoring Month in January.
Every year throughout January, National Mentoring Partnership hosts events to raise awareness of how "one mentor can change a young person's life."
And according to statists, young adults with a mentor are 130% more likely to hold leadership positions.
The county will be hosting a series of virtual and in-person workshops to bring attention to the need for mentors.
The workshops will inform the community on how to become a mentor to young people who face a variety of risk factors. These workshops include:
- Becoming a Better Mentor: Strategies to Be There for Young People - Facilitating Group Interactions
- Mentoring Task Force Lunch and Learn
The first event – Summit for Mentors and Professionals, is taking place virtually on Jan. 17 and 24, 10 a.m. to noon.
